Flash is a technology developed by Adobe that allows various kinds of audio, video, animation, and interactivity to be streamed to your computer. This tutorial will take you, step-by-step through the process of downloading and installing the Flash plug-in. A plug-in is a small piece of software that you install onto your computer to help your Web browser read new and different kinds of files. Note: If you already have the latest version of the Flash plug-in installed on your computer, you do not need to download and install it again. Further, if you are using Internet Explorer on Windows, IE will attempt to download and install the Flash IE Plug-in automatically if you do not already have the latest version. Go to:

The Flash plug in is available from Adobe's web site. Before downloading, be sure to close all other browser windows. Click the Agree and install now button. If your browser gives you a warning message, click in the white area, then choose Install ActiveX Control in the menu that appears. Now, you can click the Install button in the this Security Warning box:

Adobe will automatically download and install the player. You will know that the Flash player has been successfully installed because a movie will play on the Adobe Website that opens with this screen:

How to Install the Flash Plug-In for the Mac OS
Please read through the entire tutorial before attempting to download and install the Flash plug-in.
Note: If you already have the latest version of the Flash plug-in installed on your computer, you do not need to download and install it again.
The Flash plug in is available from Adobe's web site. Before downloading, be sure to close all other browser windows. Use the drop down menu to choose the correct version to download to your Mac. Click the Agree and install now button. Click the ZIP file that automatically downloads so that you can extract the file, named Install Flash Player 9 UB.dmg. Then, click the file. It looks like this:

Once the installer launches, you can click the Install button as seen below:

The installer will install the Flash plug-in on any Web browser on your computer (Safari or Firefox). You will know that the Flash player has been successfully installed because a movie will play on the Adobe Website that opens with this message:
