Welcome

Welcome to STI Prevention: Using Epidemiology to Inform Policy and Program.

This course will provide a comprehensive overview of the biology, epidemiology, and behavioral aspects of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The goal of the course is to acquire the skill of applying biology, epidemiology, and behavioral knowledge when developing strategies for STI policies and programs—a skill essential to all public health practitioners.

We will communicate through lectures, LiveTalks, and Web-posted readings. We have a number of exciting guest lecturers who are leading experts on various STIs. During live chats we will answer your questions regarding course materials and/or assignments. All reading assignments will be posted to our class Web site or made available from public domain Web sites (e.g., CDC’s site).

We look forward to working with you!
