Welcome to Health Communication Programs.
This course is meant to give you hands-on experience designing effective and strategic health communication projects. Health Communication Programs is based on the worldwide experience of Johns Hopkins University's Center for Communication Programs.
Since variety is the spice of life, we have designed the course with variety in mind, and it includes:
- Eight online video introductions and online audio lectures
- A textbook with theory and case studies related to behavior change projects around the world
- An accompanying video
- Many reference readings specific to the area in which your health communication projects will focus
- A software program we call SCOPE (Strategic Program Development software)
You will use all of the above course components to develop your health communication project plans and outputs.
A unique feature of the course is the SCOPE program. You will use SCOPE to:
- Create a psychographic audience profile and a strategic program design
- Develop and pre-test media materials and learn how to work with professional artists, scriptwriters, and directors
- Design workable monitoring and evaluation plans
We look forward to this exciting new adventure with you! See you online!
