Welcome

Welcome to the Web-based version of Environmental Health! Our goal is to present the basic concepts and principles of the field of environmental health in a way that (we hope!) convinces you that these concepts and principles have broad applicability to all aspects of public health. We know that many of you are taking this course because it is required for the MPH degree—not because you believe that environmental health issues rank among the top public health threats. We are especially interested in trying to provide a rich and useful experience for you. The course consists of a series of lectures, punctuated by case studies. We will assess your knowledge via homeworks and exams that focus on concepts and principles rather than "factoids."

So, if you're ready, let's get started!

— Kellogg J. Schwab, PhD
