Welcome

Welcome to Introduction to Clinical Trials.

This course is designed to provide an overview of the design of randomized trials and of issues related to ethics, analysis, and use of evidence from trials. The intent of the course is to make students better consumers of clinical trials in current or future roles as health care professionals, policy makers, public health or clinical researchers, IRB members, etc. The course also serves as a foundation for those who wish to pursue more advanced coursework in the conduct and analysis of randomized trials.

We invite you to view the more detailed course description, objectives, and list of topics to be covered in the class. The primary format of the class will be the presentation of online lectures. In addition, we will have five exercises, each requiring individual or group work in preparation for a LiveTalk discussion, followed by submission of written work. We encourage communication with us and with your fellow students throughout the course.

If you have any questions, please feel free to send us an email. We hope you will join us, and we look forward to teaching this class online because of the incredibly diverse and experienced group of students in the program.

Enjoy the course!
